Why Sri Lanka’s ‘Quiet Season’ actually has a lot to shout about

In Sri Lankan tradition, May-June and October-(early) December have often been considered ‘low season’ – some operators even putting people off visiting at these times. We think that a great shame with these months having a lot to offer.

  • Beaches are quieter
  • National Parks less busy
  • Places of cultural interest more accessible
  • Prices (often considerably) lower

Weather too, often a factor in dissuading people from an ‘off-peak’ holiday is now far harder to predict. Last year’s October and November brought bright and sunny weather across much of the island – real ‘high-season’ stuff.A lot of hotels offer stand alone ‘quiet season’ deals. We’ve wrapped some of the best of those to give three unique trips that offer fantastic value and a wonderful experience of the island. We hope they appeal!
