Whale watching and day cruises

A range of day cruises

Topaz and Pearl, two stunning catamarans, operate a selection of day trips including whale watching, snorkelling, BBQ lunch, sunset and bespoke cruises.
In our opinion these day trips can be potentially diminished if you’re stuck in a baying crowd, on board a well-packed boat.
The alternative, a sedate cruise aboard a spacious catamaran, delicious food and drink being served, is infinitely preferable.

Comfort & Style

Pearl, launched in December 2014, is a 14m, extremely spacious double-decked catamaran. A hybrid catamaran, she has an open plan design, making her perfectly suited for the tropical climate of Sri Lanka. A large sundeck hosts a trampoline and sun-beds and upstairs there are more sun-beds and tables to sit 24.

A typical whale watching trip includes...

At 6:30 guests are welcomed onboard Pearl and the skipper sets course to the whales. En route you will be served a freshly prepared three-course breakfast. The moment the guide spots the whales you will be invited to the front of the boat or the top level for the best views.

After enjoying the whales you’ll set sail again and head to a quiet remote spot where you have the chance to hit the water for swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. Having built up an appetite you’ll be rewarded with a two-course lunch while you admire the view back to shore.

The crew were really friendly and helpful and knew their stuff. Food served on board was really tasty. Facilities were excellent given you are on board a yacht. Seeing whales was a real highlight of our holiday, as was the snorkelling just before lunch. Would highly recommend to anybody who wants to do see an extra element of Sri Lanka.

We had an amazing time on the pearl! The experience cannot be described by the pictures on the website. It's definitely one of the most beautiful yachts in Mirissa.

You see the other tourist boats going out rammed to the gills with punters on their hard plastic seats and appreciate you're in luxury. Snobbery aside, they also looked dangerous. When we were near one following dolphins all the passengers crowded to one side and the craft took on a serious list.
